Blowing In The Wind

Tousled Tresses
Tousled Tresses I have to admit, with this one, which is watercolours and markers, including the wonderfully vibrant, opaque ‘Posca’ pens which will cover over anything and everything, I did use photoshop (yes been getting my head round that too these last few months!), to actually remove 2 clouds that were in the sky. And also to get rid of a join in the paper where I actually added a new sheet partly underneath to redo part of the painting. Clever stuff the old photoshop, tho I only know a teeny little bit about it!

Getting into the swing with watercolours….

At least, I’ve been having a go, and I’m still developing my style with these. As you can probably tell, I don’t do an awful lot of ‘realistic’ painting. Mine is a little off the wall, whatever it is I’m doing and in whatever medium. It’s Marmite… you either like it or you don’t. There’s not really a middle ground with it. Same with my watercolours; I’m only putting a fine film of watery colour on parts of the painting, rather than ‘colouring it in’. I start with a pencil / graphite sketch, with a lot of blending and the use of my battery operated rubber….(how cool is that?!  – shame I didn’t realise for a couple of weeks it was battery operated! I happened to read about them, looked on (good old) Amazon, and thought – I’ve got one of those…!).  Here’s some of my sketch water colours…

More recent ‘Big Hair Art’.

So, here’s some of my more recent big hair art. I’m now bringing in other cultures…African and Indian are 2 that I’ve done which has been great fun using their relevant artistic patterns.  This lovely lady is ‘Afro Queen’

Adult Colour Therapy Book

So these two were 2 of my original ‘Big Hair Art’ pieces, which I have stripped of colour, and they do lend themselves very well to adult colouring. I’ve approached many publishers with some examples, and one has said they want to see more, which they now have. It’s up to 6 weeks maybe before I hear anything, and should that come to nothing I do plan to self publish. I’m under no illusions what so ever! Anyhows we’ll see…  And I think I wore my poor computer out as the day I tried to resend the email with the 27 page attachment… it broke…! So I had to send a hard copy, which fortunately I did print off the night before.

Well, it’s been a while…..

Yes it certainly has! But I have been making lots of art; trying new mediums, subjects, and just loving it all. Social media. Hmm, there’s a thing. Soooo much hard work to keep up with it, and clearly this blog has taken a real back seat! I only do my business Page in Face Book, and Instagram; and without doubt in my mind they are essential to keep updating on a regular basis. It’s just the way it is. I’ve also done a few small exhibitions – and sold 2 framed signed prints! (It’s a start!), and I’ve had a few commissions now too.  I’ve created my website, complete with shopping facility:  click on the link to pay a visit. There’s prints and original work for sale   www.lynneartystuff.co.uk   I’ve also now opened my Etsy shop:  www.etsy.com/uk/shop/lynneartystuff  Again, here all my work, prints and originals are available and I’m updating as I create new works. Do drop by!
