Painting news….

Another painting done and dusted! This one was requested by my son. He was quite taken by the pink ‘islands’ effect in ‘Wild Thing’. This is where I use old dried up acrylic paint from my pallet in my collages. My only brief was the atlas opened at the pages of South East Asia – nothing else! However, a few adjustments were made on the way with this one, following discussions on its progress! I am really pleased with it, as is Ross…….(I think….I hope!).

i am really enjoying this Collage malarkey! It’s…..liberating…anything goes, and what doesn’t work you just cover it up and redo it! I’m really loving using the ‘light moulding paste’ through stencils, as in the birds of this one, and ‘Cats A Sleeping’. I like the paste left white, It gives that sort of chalky flakey effect.

Anyway, see what you think. This kind of art is very subjective, as its so different. But hey! Marmite’s a best seller! And I have to take my 2 pieces of artwork to be submitted to the Guildford Art Society’s Exhibition on Tuesday.  I am putting in ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Autumn Glory’….for £150.00 each!! (I’ll be bringing them home again then!)
