The cats

Well, they are still going out, though I am treating them like homing pigeons, by calling them in every half hour or so! So far, they’ve been very good. And I always get them in if I go out. Uh oh…..just this minute hauled them both in from out the front, where they are not allowed. That’s it! They’re grounded for a while!

My newest piece of art

Just finished a painting I actually started last year! It’s of Dartmouth, from a photo I took on Kingswear, which is across the river. It is truly a beautiful place. I really enjoy the collage side of art now, and I incorporated some in this new painting, though I don’t think it’s very visible from just a photo. I’d like to do more sea scape painting, and I have just downloaded Glyn Macey’s newest videos, which are brilliant! He uses a lot of collage in his, and it’s a great way to learn.  Anyway here is ‘View Through The Trees’ .

Update on Bessie…

Bessie is back to her old self again, thank goodness! She’s been through a bit of an ordeal, but the vet is very pleased with her, and she seems to be fine with only the one eye. We are very careful of leaving the cats alone with her, and the vet showed us the ‘doggles’, which would act as protection for her eyes. I don’t think we’ll be resorting to theses though!

Busy busy busy……

Well, it’s been a while people, but we’ve been soooooo busy – looking at houses. You would think it would be a vey pleasant experience, going round lots of houses. BUT…actually it’s really tiring! What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for someone else (us, in this case); or the house is too dark (I wasn’t born to be a mole); or this garden is too small. Unfortunately we have a lot of boxes to be ticked (well, this is our forever home and it has to be right).  There’s been 3 now, I have done 2 or 3 rooms and said, sorry, this is not for me! Poor Nick has been a bit open mouthed on these occasions, but there’s no point wasting everyone’s time.

Anyway, we resorted to putting letters through the doors of properties in our favourite areas. 45 in total, and we’ve had 4 phone calls as a result. 3 came to nothing, but one of them, we have made an offer on, and are now waiting to hear if it has been accepted. You just know when a house is right for you don’t you? This one WILL tick all our boxes……when it has been done up! Which is something I really didn’t want to have to do…..but hey ho! Here we go again!
